The Eternal Frost Kingdom

A Melbourne game blog logging every worthwhile RPG, indie gem and patch note — filed like a timetable, read like a friend's recommendation.

Founder's note

From a desk in Collingwood

Hi — I'm Marnie Kessler. I started EternalFrostKingdom in 2019 after a decade of scribbling game notes on train timetables between Clifton Hill and the city. The name stuck because winter RPGs were the ones I kept returning to, and because a good backlog should feel like a schedule you can actually keep.

Everything here is played to credits before it's written up. No review copies traded for scores, no ranking a title I bounced off after twenty minutes. I publish three long reads a week, a Friday "cozy departures" pick, and a running patch ledger for the games worth updating on.

If you're in Melbourne, I host a monthly play-and-chat at a Smith Street cafe. Details go out to the newsletter first — the same list that gets the full write-ups before they hit the front page.
